Disability consideration !!!

I am a disabled person trying to buy a phone . I have been trying to receive it since Saturday 13th . I could not collect it from the store as planned as I was refused the identification I had , that is a perfectly acceptable form of id. I also have the email from EE to say so .
i incured costs for my carer , great risk to my health to be told I was wrong in a shop full of people and then twice on the phone to the call centre . I have since been mis informed as to what to expect next . There’s absolutely no respect for being a human being , let alone a disabled person that has been shamed quite publicly, and despite several attempts to engage with someone that can actually help me I’m still without said phone and very distressed by the whole situation !!!

To collect a phone in store you need to either take your passport or drivers license, these are the only valid forms of ID I was told by EE multiple times

I am also disabled and can't drive due to it, but have got a learners license to act as ID

Oh well that's odd, what form of ID did you try to use?

I would apply for a learners permit, even if you can't legally drive, costs £30 and I feel more secure carrying that than my passport

Those apps that verify your ID like "Post office EasyID/Yoti" are not accepted I don't think

Maybe @XRaySpeX can offer some insight into the ID;s accepted or @Chris_B

What I.D did you try and use, and bare in mind it has be be verified in the ID Scan device in store.

And remember some I.D is more forgeable than others

If you're asked for ID at an EE store:

You'll need to provide valid photo ID. EE stores will accept a passport (from any country) or a UK photocard driving licence.

Please note: if a driving license is being used as a form of proof, the address on the customer’s driving licence MUST match that of their EE account address for it to be accepted.
