Anytime upgrade and trade in.

I've been looking to take advantage of early upgrade which is free with handing back current phone. But. I'm confused by the trade in offer (pictured)

, that takes money off your contract, for the s22 ultra. If I'm handing my phone back for the early upgrade, I'm presuming that's not counting as the device for the trade in offer and I would need an other? I.e to get early upgrade hand in my current Samsung and to get the money off contract, trade in an older device?

I presume not. As its upgrade anytime (now past the year). The next step was imei number but as per query, didn't know if 1 or 2 phones needed

When does your contract end?

If you are waiving the upgrade fee to trade in your current phone, you would not be eligible for the discount as well.

So this would be classed as 'waiving' the upgrade fee? Strange the website allows you to select the option.
