Hi All,

I just wondered how easy it is to change a price plan when you're mid-term.

The background, I got an iPhone 13 mini a few months ago for my niece. Gave her the handset and use the sim myself. It's got 4GB of data on it only and I use it as my work sim (was happy with a low data allowance as I use dual sim so all my data usage comes from my main EE sim).

I'm currently in the process of working my notice and therefore am not going to need the work sim anymore. My plan is to port my nieces number onto that SIM however it's likely that in the not to distant future, she'll need more data than the 4GB on the package.

I was looking to see if plans can be modified online but can't see that to be an option (can see data add ons but they're quite expensive).

So is it possible to upgrade the package (even when linked to a handset) as it'll no doubt be a case of paying more or would I have to stick it out on 4GB till the end of the term?

Not that that'd be an issue, I do have to look for a sim for me as my main sim is a work freebie that will end when I leave so could just gift her extra data each month.

Be very careful they tell you one thing and then after the call you get confirmation of something completely different. £28pm up to £45pm after saying it was only £1pm more

EE won't port nos between its contracts. So you need to 1st port your existing no to another network's PAYG using a PAC from EE & then in reverse port it back to your new contract. This will also have the effect of cancelling your old contract.

You could alternatively "upgrade" your old contract to PAYG with 30 days notice & then ask EE to transfer the no to your new contract.

You may change a plan mid-term to a more expensive 1 with more data - see

Brilliant, thanks for the advice guys. At least I know it can be done.

I'll pop into the EE shop the next time I'm in One Braham and chat through my options.

Moving my nieces number to replace my work number will be easy as she's currently on Voxi but you're right, I'm going to have to port out then back to get mine sorted.
