Cancellation of contract

Hy, I’m currently serving in HM forces. Recently I’ve got email that I’ll be posting soon to brunei in Upcoming June but my contract is upto october. I want to end my contract will i have to pay extra amount of money or will it be free.

@Su134 : You cannot cancel your contract yet but you will be able to freeze it for up to a year w/out charge. Then you may cancel it in Oct. See Change my account in the case of a life event :

Armed Forces contract suspension

If you or a family member is employed in the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force or as any other type of military personnel and are posted overseas, you can suspend your pay monthly contract for up to 12 months without charge.

Its such a long procedure why can’t it be automatically cancelled at first place in which i don’t have to wait until October.

@Su134 If you want to cancel you’ll be required to pay it off. You just need to call customer services to do that, you only given an option to freeze it while your away becomes of being in the HM services.

You'll need to speak to CS. As they are not getting any revenue from you during the freeze they might as well release you early.

I’ll freeze it but after that I won’t be able to call to call center as I’ll be away from brunei.
Hopefully they will cancel my contract without any extra charges.

@Su134 If you freeze it you’ll be able to then resume that contract once you come back to UK. If you want to terminate it you’ll be required to pay it off early, you’ll not get out of the contract for free. The best option is just to freeze it and then resume it once your back.

Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. over Skype when abroad. It should be free.

I’ll freeze it for time being now. HopefUlly they will understand and cnacel my contract for free

@Su134 they will not cancel it for free they’re only freezing it on a temporary basis so you can resume it once you come back. Your contract has to be fulfilled but you get the option to freeze it while your away and then resume it once your back.
