Confused about phone bill

I have missed few months of my contract, I got a letter from a debt collection agency it's more that what I owe and still says I owe it on my EE account after I made payment plan with the debt collector. I'm a little confused 🤔

@simpsond You’ve been charged late fees and if it’s gone to a debt collector they’ll add there own fees. You do not need to pay EE as the debt collector has taken over your account.

if your account is still saying that you owe money on it then you shouldn’t have paid the debt collector, something iffy is going on because if you can still pay EE then it hasn’t gone to a debt collector.
