topic Be careful when renewing your contract in Contracts & Billing

I had to renew a few months ago and assumed I was getting the same contract at a new (more expensive) price as I had cancelled the broadband and lost the discount. I have always had EU roaming included.

Then when I arrived on holiday in Spain rather than get the usual roaming message I received a message saying I would be charged about £2 a day for roaming.

After ringing EE I was informed that the following didn't mean I had EU roaming.

----------

Additional items Daily EU Roaming Charge

£0.00

£20 off your next phone

£0.00

WiFi Coverage Boost

£0.00

Now to me that looks like I have EE roaming. But no, seemingly it should look like this (this is from my 1st contract)

----------

Additional items

Spend Cap £0.00

£0.00

WiFi Coverage Boost

£0.00

£2.47 per day for EU roaming

£0.00

Roam in EU

£0.00

The upshot was I had to agree to pay £3 a month extra.

So be careful. If I had realised within the 14 days I would have moved provider.

I've also just lost the free international calls add-on as they want £1.50 a month for that now.

Genuinely feels like loyal customers are easy pickings these days

You say you assumed, that's the issue here nothing else. If you'd asked at the time & checked everything would have been sorted I'm sure
