I pay for my ex partners contract but do not want to carry on paying it for him. How do I stop paying it and transferring the bill to him?

Do you have access access to the number and is the SIM registered to your address.

You'll both need to speak to EE and I believe he will need to pass a credit check although CS will say if this is needed.

@Rachael371 : There's nowt to stop you cancelling your DD with your bank & informing him you've done so. It's his a/c; he is responsible for arranging payment.

And to further clarify this, it is the account holder's responsibility to maintain payments. If you ex-partner is the account holder, then simply stop making payments and/or cancel the direct debit. The contractual payments are your ex-partner's issue, not yours.

The issue is, to be clear whose name the account is in and thus where the responsibility lies. If the account is in your ex-partner's name, there is nothing to transfer. If it's in your name, then you need to undertake a legal transfer of ownership with the consent of both donor & recipient.
