topic PAC requested on contract end date but port completed next date in Contracts & Billing

Hi, quick question about EE final billing.

My contract ended 26 Jan. I requested my PAC the same day, but the number transfer completed on 27 Jan. I didn’t use EE after requesting the PAC.

Will EE charge a full final month, or is a pro-rata / 1-day charge possible? Does this depend on the billing cycle?

Thanks for any clarification.

You'll always be charged for your full notice period, irrespective of where you are in the bill cycle - this is why a final bill is produced after disconnection, with final credits & debits included.

From a quick check of the T&Cs, clause 9.2 appears to cover this scenario - "You will be responsible for all Charges up to and including the date that this Agreement terminates. If the Agreement terminates before the expiry of the 30 day notice period, You may have to pay a Charge, as described in Our Non-Standard Price Guide"

One of the few useful things OFCOM has done is to stop double billing. If you are out of contract and you use a PAC, charges stop on the day you use the PAC, so you won't be paying your old and new provider.

That said, depending on when EE produce the bill it's possible you will get charged for the full month, but then it will be refunded, so leave your direct debit in place until you get a final bill.

EE will charge pro-rata per day from your end date until no. was ported.

@bristolian :

@bristolian wrote:

If the Agreement terminates before the expiry of the 30 day notice period, You may have to pay a Charge, as described in Our Non-Standard Price Guide"

There is no notice period necessary when you port using a PAC after your end date.

Note the use of the word "may" to cover the eventuality of using a PAC.
