I am told my monthly plan is going to increase by 2.50 a month. Why?

I have no internet on my phone and don't want it (I use a laptop at home), I hardly ever make a call and text sporadically.

I am already paying £10, 49 monthly, which I think is quite enough for what I do! And now an increase? Why?

I have no recollection of having agreed to a price/plan increase, given that I hardly ever use the phone! it's a basic Nokia for idiots, no internet 🙂

I am actually on Pension Credit, so I understand I am entitled to a lower rate?

How do I prove it? I can easily take a pic of a letter and save it on my laptop, but how do I produce it?

I could see no space to upload files on this site...

The camera icon in forum replies allows images to be uploaded, they are then checked for personal or identifiable info before being published. Uploading personal info such as letters, to a public internet forum, is not a good idea on any level!

To benefit from lower fees you must be on the EE Basics | EE Social Mobile Tariff plan if you are on state benefits.

Your image cannot be approved as it has gallons of personal info. in it that would be visible to all and sundry leading to you being scammed.

Anyway you don't give it to us. You give it to me EE when you apply for a EE Basics plan.

thanks...I don't think it's worth the hassle though, as basic plan would hardly save me a thing, as my plan would now be, with the 2.50 a month increase, only just more than the £12.00 basic.

Welcome to the Community @fulvia.

If you're in contract at the moment, the pounds and pence increase should have been incorporated into your contract terms when you took this out.

In December 2023, Ofcom banned inflation-linked mid-contract price rises. We introduced a pricing model aligned with Ofcom’s approach offering our customers a predictable long-term view of their annual price rise in pounds and pence, for the duration of their contract term. 

If you're out of contract you're free to change to any option available, and if you did opt for the EE Mobile Basics plan, this is currently exempt from future annual increases, whereas the plan that you're currently on will increase each year.

Is there a deadline to apply for the EE mobile Basic Plan?

What do I have to produce as proof apart from the above (now deleted by a kind member who thought it was too revealing?).

Free travel card? Pension credit letter? etc...?
