Hi @Andypanz,

Welcome to the EE Community

Just wanted to confirm the advice you have been given by @Chris_B is correct, I am sorry you were told differently. In the situation where your airtime contract is over but you still have 12 months to pay on the device agreement you can do any of the following-

Keep your current airtime plan on a 30-day rolling contract and continue paying for their Flex Pay agreement or pay it off early

Move to a SIM only deal and continue paying for their Flex Pay agreement or pay it off early

Upgrade to a new device and plan by paying off the remaining Flex Pay balance

Leave EE by either paying off the Flex Pay balance or continuing with the Flex Pay agreement despite cancelling their EE contract

So you can change your airtime plan to a SIM only plan without needing to pay off the remainder of your device agreement. It is only if you are upgrading to a new phone that you need to pay off any remaining Flex Pay balance immediately.

Alex

A few £ here or there I'd expect, possibly a bit more with promotions - but I'd be interested to see specific examples.

The airtime element of FlexPay is a quasi-SIM-only already, after all.
