Sony unauthorised payments

Hi folks.

has anyone recently experienced fraudulent activity on phones via Sony PlayStation and a company called Boko

just received and ridiculous bill with 4 x charges within 1 minute to BSony.

i have contacted Sony and it seems this is now very common.

I have also contacted Boko and am waiting on response.

does anyone have experience with this and how easy was it to get funds returned?

@JohnB1978 : Boku is a secure payment method that allows customers to charge digital goods and services to their mobile number. Have you bought / subscribed to anything online & allowed it to be charged to your phone bill? That's what Boku enables.

Hi , yes 11yr old grandaughters phone had 4 charges of £39.99 all within a minute, bill stated sony b but we have no playstation and she only has sim and 5Gb and she never uses all of that. Spoke to EE then Sony who referred us to Boku( not helpful) they said it was Apple? even when we called Apple who checked phone for last 12 months and it showed nothing had ever been. purchased at all, after pushing BOKU they finally said no record of these charges and confirmed no Sony account they referred us back to EE fraud dept, yesterday we called ee and discussed with them and they were emailing BOKU re all of this, last night checked account and looks like a refund for full amount is coming off september bill.

I would say see what boku responds with and keep emailing if you hear nothing , if no solution with them then go to EE and tell them you want to take through fraud dept.

our complaint started in July so it is for us a quick resolve, just dont give up. PR

I’m still waiting for Bolko to reply but you have been great and very helpful on how to persevere further if I get no joy from Bolko.
Yes. Checked my daughter’s phone and can find no record on any purchases.
Very strange how this keeps yapping and EE have not put measures in to prevent.
Surely multiple purchases in a short time must be a red flag

John,

I totally agree strange it happens on a lot of the young childrens phones, i think Boku expect you to give up but dont and we even asked to speak with a manager because they continually fob you off, i must admit it is extremely stressfull but EE put a bar on the phone which you can ask for which will stop any charges.

Yes. My daughter fell foul to fake messages from a friend and I got hit for £65. I believe i was lucky it wasn’t more. It looks like no one will take responsibility, Sony, Boku or EE.
i don’t understand why premium charges are not barred by default to protect customers.
