topic SIM plan question in Contracts & Billing

I was on a legacy plan from Plusnet where I was paying around £6.88 a month. The following is all to the very best of my recollection. I received a text from EE around the beginning of July 2025 informing me that my payment would increase to £7.50. For this reason alone, I phoned EE to ask why this was happening and I was informed that the legacy plan was coming to an end. This seemed fair enough. However, the operator could not locate a plan for £7.50 and told me that the next month my payment would increase to £12.00. This clearly contradicted the text I had received, although I no longer have that text either because I deleted it or somehow the sender deleted it. The operator offered me a discount, reducing the payment to £9.00, which I accepted at the time. A month later, feeling uncertain about the advice I had received, I examined the EE website and discovered the £7.50 plan but did nothing at that point as I was travelling abroad for a month the next day. On my return, I phoned EE to explain what I have mentioned hitherto. Before making the call, I examined the EE website but curiously could not locate a page with the £7.50 plan. The operator told me that a text message had been sent to me, informing me that my payment would increase from the legacy amount to £12.00. He could see no record of the text I received quoting the £7.50 amount, which I repeat is what prompted me to contact EE in the first place. He was also unaware of any £7.50 plan. I do not believe that I am becoming demented and tend to believe what I see with my own eyes. I do not doubt that the operators were telling the truth from their point of view but the disappearance of the £7.50 plan remains a curiosity, of which I confess I am suspicious.
