topic Moving to the UK from Canada in Contracts & Billing

Hello. We're moving to the UK next month and want to get set up on mobile services quickly. We have rented a short term rental while we wait for shipped items to arrive, just wondering what's the simplest way to get set up with EE? I have a current account but credit cards are still Canadian until we get on the ground. Go to a store? What would I need to set up an account (passport etc?) Thanks in advance! Will be moving to Exeter area

You're unlikely to be able to get a mobile contract for some time until you build up a decent credit history in UK. Until then you're only option would be to get a PAYG SIM & Plan

A pay-monthly contract account is a credit-based system and thus you need to pass a credit check to have one. Unless you have a credit history in the UK, then as with any other borrowing - you wouldn't be guaranteed approval.

Your alternative will be to have a PAYG phone in the short term, and then convert it to a pay-monthly contract in due course.
