Why? The OP's daughter doesn't need to do an account transfer on the Three line, all it will do is result in an unnecessary credit check in her daughters name.

The Three account holder can request the PAC, while her daughter sets up her line with EE, once that's done they can give the PAC to her daughter to use on the new EE account.

Not advisable but technically the Three account holder doesn't even need to be there if her daughter has the phone. She could text pac to 65075 and they'll get an SMS with the code.

Obviously she would need permission from the account holder to do that.

Hi

My daughter currently has a number under Three, the contract is in my name but she's authorized person. This means she has some limitations on managing the account, specially considering I moved to Spain and she's still in the UK.

Since the contract with Three ends in September, I'm thinking of moving to EE and then change the ownership. Will this be possible? Even if we need to wait a minimum time, it's still good to know it's possible because Three completly blocks me from doing this and she doesn't want to have to change number.

She already has another number under EE, that she got for work purposes, so the credit check might not be such an issue but we are unsure.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, a change of ownership & number port are both possible - the ownership is process is explained under "transfer to a friend, colleague or family member" on https://ee.co.uk/help/profile/manage/change-my-account-in-the-case-of-a-life-event

There is a 3month lockout after a number first becomes active on EE's network, before it can be transferred. The call to CS to donate the account, and the call to receive it, can be separated - a password issued to the first caller, which the second caller should then quote.

If your daughter is an existing account holder, then there should be no need for a new account to be created as part of the transfer - this may make the credit check process easier, but only CS can advise for certain, as they have access to your individual accounts.

If your daughter, she'll need to pass a credit check.

Also, I believe you can't change ownership of a new contract for 6 months.

Thank you. That's what I thought would be case. I guess we will need to port the number first and then wait 3 months to change the account holder.

That was very helpful!

Your daughter can just take out a new EE SIM Only or Phone plan, and then get a PAC from Three and port the number over when the contract is up. No need to faff about with change of ownership that would require both of you to go through the process?

Yeah, but Three says it's not possible at all. Apparently only if I die... yes, we asked. We wouldn't even be thinking about changing to ee if it wasn't for them not letting us change ownership.

They used to be able to do it, looks like it changed when they moved users over to the new system which is a bit silly really.

https://community.three.co.uk/t5/Account-and-services/Change-of-Ownership/m-p/41555

If your daughter is happy with Three she could think about ID Mobile (Carphone Warehouse) or Smarty (owned by Three) both use the Three network.

I do find that EE is pretty good all round for me where I live and work. Three is a bit hit and miss in terms of coverage, speed and their customer service is terrible.

Either way giving your daughter the PAC will work.
