May be something around the under-display IR Sensor for FaceID. It would be expected for this part of the screen to look slightly different under a close visual inspection. However if it looks significantly off and is showing odd spots of colour, it could be worth raising.

As you made the purchase via Digital (via the app/website), you would be best to call EE Customer Service on 150 to raise it. The local store would likely only have warranty repair options available to them unless it was something they sold faulty themselves from their stock.

I’ve had the device for 2 days, today I’ve noticed a blue dot/pixel appearing in the upper left corner. It is intermittent, comes and goes on its own. At first I restarted the phone, it went anyway, but then it came back. Not sure what to do. Is it a hardware issue or a software issue that will be fixed?

Its just below that cutout,

ill post a image of it.

i presume ill get a replacement sent? I’ve had the phone 3 days. Not best pleased but i understand its a simple intermittent display defect from factory

Should do.

Sounds like a stuck pixel or perhaps a software/rendering issue since a restart temporarily gets rid of it. Did you try a force restart as well (volume up, down and power button ‘til you see the Apple logo)?

Additionally is there a software update available just to see if that maybe helps?

Otherwise yes, just give them a call asap and just say about a blue pixel on your display that won’t go away, should be able to sort a replacement for you. Shouldn’t be something you have to manage/live with on a brand new phone after all.

I was thinking ( and still hoping) it is a software issue, but after taking a screenshot the blue dot doesn’t show in that image which leads me to believe it is a physical it is at the OLED level, or possibly a simple Display Driver bug that can be fixed by apple via software update.

the blue dot is always faintly visible but hard to see even in a completely dark room. But last night I noticed it and it was shining bright and very noticeable. But for a brand new Device less than a week old, im not willing to accept such an issue.

haven’t tried a Force Restart Yet.

unfortunately there is no update (at least yet) I have seen online multiple people talking about display issues either dead lines of pixels or software freezes.

either way I don’t want to chance it being a software issue, and waiting for a IOS 27.0.1 patch, going to Ring up EE and let them know tomorrow and hopefully get a replacement. Thanks for you replies however I appreciate it
