While searching Google the AI Overview presents an image of a 5G+ symbol and implies you should get this, however this is not something that is present on EE and the AI Overview is (confidently) wrong .

In the US this is common on some of their networks to denote their different 'flavours' of 5G, but not in the UK.

EE's official 5G+ Guidance can be found here and makes no mention of said logo: https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/manage-use/using-phone-features/5G-plus

My own personal experience connected to 5G+ on an Android device is also an unchanged 5G symbol.

There is no visual differentiation on an iPhone between 5G-NSA (Non Standalone) and 5G+ (5G SA/Standalone).

This can however be manually checked via the service menu accessed with the appropriate keypad code where it should say "SA" when connected to 5G+.

Thank you,

but according to EE ( and searches ) for both EE ( and for Vodafone Ultra ) they suggest 5G+ should be showing.

I would take anything that Google so-called "AI" says with a very huge pinch of salt, I find examples on a daily basis where it's plain wrong.

I can't talk for Apple-specifics, but in the UK EE certainly market 5GSA as "5G+"

As above, the Overview in my test case was entirely incorrect when searching "EE 5G+ symbol" yet it is the first (and often only) thing that is viewed on a quick search. I can understand the confusion for users, especially when other regions have a 5G+ symbol (although this may mean different things in different places).

However the current state of play on Apple devices is that while "5G+" is the term that EE have chosen to use to market their 5G SA service, there is no visible logo to go with it and may never be. It just shows as 5G on-device.

As everyone else says, iPhones just show 5G.

I find the nPerf speedtest app the easiest way to see if SA is working, as it will say it at the bottom, like this:
