Upgrade to 17 pro max?

I currently have iPhone 15 pro max on contract which ends in Aug 2026 but not sure whether to upgrade to the 17 pro max? How long can/should I wait after my contract ends to upgrade (if I do)? Can I upgrade without trading in my current iPhone? Is upgrading to 17 pro max worth it?

@shakiralouise you don’t have to trade in once it’s paid off. It’s yours. If your not upgrading yet and are going to wait till the contract has been fulfilled then wait till the next iPhone is available. it’ll be around September 2026. If you want the 17 now you’ll have to pay off the remaining term of the current contract in full in one go.

Thank you for your reply. I want to wait until my contract has fully ended before I upgrade. If I upgrade to the 17, will I have to set up a new plan or will it continue with my existing plan (the one I had on 15 pro max)?

Upgrading your phone via EE will mean taking a new plan.

Okay and with the new plan, will there be 2 payments that come out every month like I am currently?

The new FlexPay contracts have two elements:

1: The minimum-term based airtime plan

2: The fixed-term finance loan that naturally ends.

Each element has its own separate regular payments each month.
