Iwatch series 7 on EE locked to previous owner

Got an iwatch from a friend of mine and tried to connect it and set it up

screen keeps saying it’s locked to the previous owner

he has removed it , reset it , all existence of it has gone from his phone

he says it might be because it’s still linked to his EE account ? Would this stop it from connecting to my phone ?

Hi @Wilson2025

Once you reset the watch, are you able to pair it via Bluetooth to your iPhone at all?

If not, then the watch will still be linked to your friends Apple account.

It's worth having a read of Apple's What to do before you sell, give away or trade in your Apple Watch, or buy one from someone else page.
