AI on iPhone 16

Hello, I have recently upgraded to a iPhone 16 and I cannot “activate” the IA feature. I go to Settings-Apple Intelligence & Siri but I have no option to set this up. Perhaps I have it active and don’t know how to use it lol. I am not technical at all.

Hello @Willytrig not sure what version of iOS is installed on your iPhone 16 out of the box, but can you check to see if there is a software update, as Apple Intelligence needs iOS 18.1 and later to work.

I know when I setup/switched on Apple Intelligence in the settings, I seem to remember that it didn't work immediately and it had to download something first before I could use it.

@Fatboy71 It’s 18.2 for the UK and UK English

@Willytrig Have you checked to see if the device is on 18.2 or the latest firmware 18.2.1

You then should see this in settings/Apple intelligence and Siri

just to add this is also hits the battery.

Thanks @Chris_B I must have been mistaken with 18.1 as I thought Apple Intelligence had been enable for us with the first .1 update.

@Fatboy71 18.1 was for the US but you could have it on a iPhone outside the US if you set the device to US English and region to US

18.2 made it available outside the US
