I’m baffled. My iPhone sends iMessages to many other iPhones, via data and WiFi connection but there is one phone it won’t send to as anything other than SMS. It’s an iPhone, it’s 3 years old, it’s on a sky mobile package. Why is this?

Are you sure they have iMessage turned on? What happens if someone else with an iPhone tries the same number?

Yes. My brothers phone. Went through the settings yesterday sat next to each other ! Getting blue iMessages from his friends

May be worth deleting any contact info with their number and any existing texts and trying again?

@DaveK18 Have you checked to make sure he hasn’t blocked you on his device ? You can check this by calling his number if it goes straight to voicemail he’s blocked your number.

Settings/Apps/phone/blocked contacts
