Activating Apple watch on my Iphone plan

I have ordered direct from Apple the Apple watch ultra 2 which is due to be delivered today 🙂

I want to activate this and pair with my IPHONE on EE FULL WORKS SIM ONLY monthly plan I have already.. I do want this watch to be able to use the cellular facility so I can use it without my phone with me, How do I do this? and is there a charge for it?

I do know there is a £7 data plan or does this include the cellular with this watch?

Hi @stuarttunstall,

During the pairing of your phone and watch there will be a step to setup mobile data. At that point it will take you to login to your EE ID where you then confirm adding a watch plan to your account for cellular data connection.

Depending on the version of the Full works plan you have, the watch plan will either cost £7 a month or if you have a full works plan that started after 28th August 2024, that version gets watch data free. Though you would first setup and select the £7 plan and then it gets discounted to make it free after.

I have had my full works package for a couple of years now so I guess I will pay lol although £7 is not bad

Does this allow you to use it to make/receive calls without my IPHONE with me?

@stuarttunstall No problem, yeah with the cellular plan that will mean the watch has its own 4G connection that will allow you to use the watch for calls whilst out of proximity of the phone.

Silly question now

I presume it takes the SIM details from my phone, does it matter that this is on a physical SIM rather than E-SIM?

These watches are all new to me and no idea how they work to allow calls lol

@stuarttunstall Don't worry ask any question you need that is what the Community is for lol 🙂

It won't matter what type of SIM you use in your phone, it will still pair the phone number with the watch fine, so that the phone and watch will share the number for calls etc. Though the watch will be assigned a separate non functional number for billing purposes which you will see in your account and on your bill, but will still use your actual phone number for calls.

If I pay the £7 for the watch plan what does that come with in terms of data etc, I know my phone is unlimited everything

@stuarttunstall Glad to hear it has arrived hopefully everything goes smoothly with the setup once you get around to it. The £7 indirect watch plan is a 30 day rolling plan that comes with unlimited data for the watch.

@stuarttunstall Yeah exactly even when out of range of the phone it is sharing the call and text allowance of the phone plan, so there is no additional charges for calls and texts when using the watch out of proximity of the phone.

Why do EE make this so hard?

I've recently taken out the Full Works iPhone plan on sim only & have a watch plan (eSim only) I started prior to 28th August 2024, which is on a rolling 30 day contract.

Does this mean I don't have to do anything as it's a rolling 30 day contract & it shows as £7/month but in reality it's more (£8.64) due to cost increases over the years.

So it really only started last month or do I have to speak to someone to switch things about?

Welcome to the EE Community

So you are still using the same phone as before paired with the watch, you have just moved the number to a Full Works SIM only plan?

If so there would be nothing you would need to do with the watch since it would still be paired to the same phone. The discount for the watch plan should go active 24-48 hours after having moved to an eligible plan. Does the discount show within the add-ons for the watch number? Have you had a bill since moving to the Full Works plan?

Hi I have got an Apple Watch calculator and had a plan which I paid for,

Mee advised me to get all rounder apple plan for my phone which will give me the cellular free..

just call ee..

when I go to switch on the data on it tells me it’s not available on my plan
