Advice please (upgrade)

Evening,

I am trying to upgrade my phone and use a code which was given to me by a friend, but it won’t work on either the app or the site please advise.

Looking at the iPhone 16 on an Unlimited all rounder for iPhone £82 plan.

Is it not working because it’s a pre order or the plan is wrong? I’m due an upgrade I’m on an anytime plan nearly 14 months in.

I am sure that it’s a perk and when I add item to basket it doesn’t show any discount, is it because the phone is a pre order I’ve pasted and typed the codes and they just don’t work.

Yes I am almost 14 months into contract and it’s an upgrade anytime.
