Hi currently travelling around US; have paid for roaming and have had no issue until a couple of days ago when I started just seeing SOS. Have tried all the usual things to try to connect and if I turn flight mode on and off I then get network for about 2-3 mins and it drops off again! Someone please help!! Is it my phone or is it something else!

Hello @Kathy34 ,

Welcome to the community,

Are you on contract? If that is the case, did you enable roaming on your account before going to the US? No need if on pay as you go as it is automatically enabled.

Have you tried rebooting your phone? Did you get the welcome message from EE?

Try switching automatic network off and do a manual search to see if you can get a network that works.

A couple of bits jump out.

Firstly, roaming is not something anyone pays for - it's a free facility. You're likely thinking of a billing add-on to reduce the cost of roaming.

You mention "all the usual things" - can you be a bit more specific about what those are? What's usual for one person may not be to another.

If you had service of a local network previously, but don't have now, try a manual network search and cycle through each available local operator in turn.

To be honest have tried all the above … haven’t received a welcome message from ee but have had network coverage in vegas and other places just incredibly sporadic now. Literally lasts 2 mins!!! It’s very frustrating

I’ve switched it on and off/rebooted it. I’ve done a manual search of networks. It’s just random that it drops in and out for a couple of minutes - generally after I’ve rebooted it/put it on flight mode. Do you think it’s a hardware issue? Do I need to find an Apple Store?
