How do I enable location sharing on a childs iphone ?

Hi, I cant get the location sharing to work on one of my childrens phones, the settings in screen time controls etc all look the same but only one appears on find my iphone and also the app Life360 keeps saying we need to turn on allow location sharing to get it to work. The "location" tab on the childs phones settings is in ghost writing so unable to change from this end will have to be from my phone but I cant get it to work. I have followed a couple of threads and everything they say to alter I have already done ! Please help.

Welcome to the Community 😊

When it comes to location tracking via iPhone, Find My iPhone is only designed for locating different devices logged in with the same Apple ID.

If your child's phone has its own Apple ID then instead you would need to use a separate app, 'Find My Friends'. It does need both devices to consent to it's use, though.

When it comes to Life 360, as this isn't an app we directly support we're limited in the support we can provide for this.

On your child's phone are you going to Settings > Privacy and Security > Location services to check this?
