Apple watch family plan

We bought our 10 yr old an apple watch se cellular with the view to allowing him to use it under the apple family plan. Then realised our provider doesnt support this and not in a position to currently swap. Is it possible to buy a plan just for the watch, allowing us to use the family plan and for him to have a separate number? Hoping to save a lot of disappointment! Thanks

thanks for your reply. No I am with a different provider and did not buy the watch from EE. Just checked if possible to get a contract for the watch alone and link on family plan but doesnt seem possible? thanks

@Lindseyt21 To have a family plan for the watch you also have to get the watch from EE, there is no family plan available if you purchase the watch elsewhere. You also need a iPhone on contract with EE.
