Upgrading Apple Watch

I currently have an Apple Watch S6 with the EE Smart Watch 30d £7 plan linked to my iPhone.

I am thinking of upgrading to the S9, so how it the best was to do it?

I assume that all I need to to is unpair the S6 watch and remove the plan. The just pair the new watch and add it to my plan.

Do I need to contact EE to give them all of the new watch details, or will this be automatically know when I add the watch?

I assume whatever I do will be the same if I upgrade through EE or purchase the watch elsewhere?

I recommend speaking with our Mobile Care team for the whole process. Hopefully it'll make it as smooth as possible.
