Sounds like the store was trying to get you to purchase a new phone. Have you tried a network reset on the device?

Got a iPhone 5 on EE, not using mobile data. Recently the phone is going to no service, after a call is made. When I remove the SIM card and put it back in I get a full service again.

The phone is on software 10.4 iso

I have replaced my SIM card with a new one and still have the same problem

According to EE store this problem is down to you not supporting the phone anymore due to the age of the phone

Is this down to EE or is it an Apple problem with the phone

Does the phone eventually regain coverage after dropping to no service?

No it only regains coverage once the SIM card has been removed and slot back in.

I can send and receive txt messages fine but if I make a call or receive one, the signal goes.

Hi @Supersizemeuk

Thanks for coming here 🙂

Are you able to try the SIM card in a different phone to see if the same happens?

This would help us to know if it's the SIM card or phone causing this problem 🙂

Hi,

I've tested the SIM card in another phone and so far it's been fine. So I believe the problem I've had has been down the phone

Thanks for replying has been much appreciated.
