iPhone 13 who fixes faults?

Hi,

I have an iPhone 13, supplied by EE in January this year. It has developed a fault where I can't plug a cable into the socket at the bottom to charge it. Who do I go to to get it fixed? EE or Apple?

I have bought a wireless charger so I can keep it working but I think I should get the socket fixed

thanks for your prompt reply.

There is nothing visible but it is possible there may be something in there. The cable plug (the usual Apple thunderbolt plug) goes about halfway in but doesn't "click" like I remember it doing so there may be a bit of "pocket fluff" has got pushed into the socket. I'm not going to start prodding around in there with a pin or anything in case I short out the battery or damage something. I've tried blowing as hard as I can into the socket but no luck.

I need a professional with the right tools to fix it so hence my question, do I book an appointment in my local EE shop or do I have to take it to Apple?

You can visit an EE Store and they can book a repair for you, or you can contact Apple to arrange an appointment in store and they may be able to resolve this for you in the store.

You'd like to think if you're in an EE store / Apple Store and they have a can of compressed air handy, they would give it a squirt free of charge to see if can be quickly fixed, if you ask nicely? 😁

yes it would be nice but in case it is more serious than a bit of fluff (bent pin or such) I will book an appointment at my local EE shop
