Nothing 3a no updates coming through

First time poster

My nothing 3a is not getting any updates through. The OS is probably 18 months out of date and it's now starting to cause issues with apps

Any suggestions for sorting it

Welcome to the EE Community

Are the updates just not showing when you try and scan for an update in Settings > System > System Updates, or are they showing but you are getting some kind of error when trying to download and install?

Is there anything specific you have tried already? One common thing to first try would be clearing the cache of your download manager and google play services and restarting the phone then scanning for updates. Does your phone have plenty of storage space available?

Storage, got around 30gb available. It's made no difference had more available a

@Asmith1708 Have you tried a full factory reset of the phone, as if something has become corrupted with the software to prevent updates, setting it back to default and testing if it finds updates then would be worth trying. How long ago was it you bought the phone?

Bought it around April/ May last year (not long after launch), from the EE online store.

I've already tried a full factory reset and it doesn't make a difference.

@Asmith1708 It sounds like realistically you have tried all that would be possible from the phone itself to get it to update then and to get it sorted the best option is to probably get it sent away for a repair for a technician to take a look.

Either using Nothing directly or our repair service, their website advises a 24 month warranty so as long as the phone isnt damaged or anything you should be covered for an in warranty repair.

Had a response from Nothing with a few check throughs (available storage, critical updates via play store, battery etc...). Had done them all and have tried with the device fully wiped before asking for help.

Been advised to book in for a tech to look at it. Which I have done with EE
