EE Phone & Connection to my EE router Help Please....

After some valued help please, the automated EE help in app wouldn't allow me to explain fully and every time I phone 150 it hangs up on me.....anyways, hope i'm in the right spot....

Have fibre EE router and EE phone ( newish to me ) had few months the problem is my phone it will not connect to wifi automatically and it is a fight to manually connect it. Once connected it holds for a long period, but if i go out and return the 5g is top right of my phone screen.

When i click on my phone internet it often says "saved / cant connect. Try again later". So after an AI chat ( better than the EE robot chat which generated wifi checks and all was ok ? ) I click airplane mode for 10 seconds and restart phone.....that doesn't do it, I then have to repeatedly hit connect until it does connect .....then it is fine...kinda sending me nuts.....its a google pixel 9a and no idea what the router is, i know its fibre.

I s there any way to just have the phone automatically use the router ? These are the only phone / internet settings i can see :

Signal - excellent

Frequency = 2.4GHz

Security WPA-3-Personal

Network Usage = Detect Automatically

Privacy = Use device MAC

@eliminator_pest : Do something like Settings > Connections > > WiFi > Intelligent WiFi > Turn WiFi On/Off Auto to be ON.

Thank you couldn't find that pathway so AI'd it and that belongs to samsung galaxies. I have a Google Pixel 9a.

I have a pixel 9 pro and am having the same issue since we got the new router. Our one has both 2.4 and 5G so my assumption was that it confuses the phone. My partner has Pixel 7 and doesn't have that issue. If you have a 5g router it might be worth splitting the 2.4 and 5G channels into two separate networks and save only one of them on your phone. Yet to do that but will let you know if it works.

@Ad1t0 : You can't split the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands on current EE routers.
