Since last weeks update on my Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, I have had problems with the battery draining fast and I am now having problems with charging. Is this just my device? Any recommendations?

Thank you for reply. When plugging charger into my phone, sometimes it starts charging fine and other times not at all. Only started doing this since the update.

As you use the phone the android software will deactivate apps and services you don't use.

Thanks

My wifes A17 has had similar charging issues but all seems to be working again.

- Checked that the charging cable is not damaged, checked on another device. Note some issues reported else where that some issues with USB C to USB C have problems that USB A to USB C cables don't have.

- Use a genuine Samsung charger I didn't (but still worked for me in the end).

- Make sure there is no fluff or other obstacles in the charging port, I used an air canister with nozzle to clean.

- Before the phone runs out of all battery power (my wife's was down to 6% ) do a manual RESET this should sort out any upgraded software issues. Do this by holding down for approx 10 seconds (or until the phone turns off and reboots) both the power button and the volume down buttons together.

Following the reboot the phone recognised that it had the charging cable attached as it vibrated and the charging icon was showing in the top right battery meter.

Hope this helps, I think it was a glitch with recent UI software upgrade's but sorted now.
