Sony Xperia 5 unlock button not responding

I have an old Sony phone that I have tried unlocking to use with another network. When I restart the phone there are two options on the screen. One to unlock and one to dismiss. The unlock button isnt responding, only dismiss. Next step is to buy a newer type phone but I wanted to try here if there are any other ways to unlock a phone to use it with a different network.

Welcome to the community.

When you put the other network's SIM card in the phone, does it ask for a code? If it is network locked to EE, you can request it to be unlocked on this unlocking tool.
