Microphone problem samsung A12

Hi, my A12 seems to have a microphone problem incoming and outgoing calls I can hear the other person but they can't hear me. I've tried updating, resetting, voice memos are blank so I'm pretty sure it's my microphone. My question is I can get hold of a A16 can I just move the sim to a new phone and carry on as normal? I only have a sim only contract with EE if that makes any difference. Can't call EE for obvious reasons and don't want to be without a phone for longer than needed. Thanks

Absolutely you can. The whole basis of being on SIM-only is that the network supplies the coverage & airtime, and you supply whatever phone you want.
