Samsung Galaxy S22 not getting updates

I have just purchased a second hand Galaxy S22 which will not receive updates. Apparently this is because the phone has EE service provider software installed and I am on the Vodafone network. Is there a way to remove this EE firmware?

The part truth in what you've been told is that SW updates need to be network-approved before they're released, for those devices running the EVR (EE-specific) variant of the firmware. Anyone running the BTU (generic) version gets it as soon as Samsung release it. I dare say a similar thing applies for the other network-specific variants also.

You may be better off asking this question on the Samsung forum (https://eu.community.samsung.com ) for detailed advice on getting a firmware re-flash.

The advice in that thread seems to be to ask EE to help with providing an EE SIM to put in your phone and see if the behaviour is the same. Not quite the same as "can EE help with flashing my firmware to generic version because EE are blocking it" as you asked here. What was the outcome of the below?
