Pixel 8 pro no audio recording with correct permission

Hi,

New pixel 8 pro phone, setting up and found audio records fine to camera, phone audio is fine, anything else I just get white noise/static. All apps have permission to microphone, I've tried restarting the phone. Android patched to latest. Apps I've tried:

T1 tuner

Voice Recorder

Any ideas please?

There is a similar post on there but no solution. I will try raising it there too... Having bought this phone from EE I was expecting I could get some tech support from EE ..... Is that a thing?
