topic Google Pixel 7a battery drain in Android Devices

My Pixel 7a has a terrible battery life - it's a new phone but the charge drops incredibly quickly. For instance this morning, I turned my phone off for a work meeting. The charge was 93% at this point. When I turned the phone back on, it's now 28%.

The phone recommends optimisation features such as putting apps to sleep etc and I have done everything asked of me, including deleting apps that would otherwise be useful - but surely this shouldn't have to be the case on such a new phone.

Is there a way of having the battery replaced?
