EE says to link to a laptop, open webbrowser and key in 192.168.1.1.

Despite other sites being open, get address not found!!

Surely there is an alternative to this generic archaic URL

I just want to back up my mobile and settings.

Which mobile are you trying to back up?

That IP is usually for connecting & managing a router.

The usual method for linking a device to a lappy for transferring files between them is by using a USB cable and the device will appear as an additional drive on the lappy from which you may copy or move files.

Thanks. Can't believe they assume everyone has the same router address, or that a router will store your mobile settings, lol.
