I don't want to send to Samsung as they have told me there will likely be an inspection fee, but am I wrong in thinking this is ridiculous?

For reference I am in England, not too far from London.

Can someone please explain this too me? Seems so petty...

Twice.

Both times I was told that only the repair centre could do something.

Repair centre refused to do anything and said that that's it, I can either pay for the repair or get the phone back.

Service has been horrific.

I'm sorry to hear that, @n56. If the repair centre are sticking with the decision, there isn't much we ca do here. Are you due an upgrade any time soon?
