I have my broadband with EE and their TV package looks very appealing price wise compared to SKY.

I have broadband speeds of only about 70mb .

Has anybody experienced anything like downgrading the HD or multichannel sound via EE TV ?

What is the planner like. I have been with SKY for 25 years and think the EPG is excellent, Does EE TV live up to that?

Can EE TV remote handle my BOSE sound bar on the same remote ?>

I presume EE TV has all the same functions, record, pause live tv etc?

Multiroom is easy and FREE, is that correct, just have a mini EE TV Box?

Anybody switched and have regrets?

@Dexta

I would recommend using the community search, there are plenty of threads on this subject.

Some are happy with the switch, others are not. The UX of EE TV is not as good as Sky, but then for many it is often cheaper (a bit anyway).

Ultimately only you can decide if the experience works and you have a cooling off period if you don’t get on with it.

Choosing to leave is often a good reminder for Sky to start remembering how much they love and value your custom after all.

Don’t do it!!! I switched to EE broadband and tv in January and I hate the tv!! I watch most things on record so I can fast forward through the ads….not possible on EE on itv unsure on other channels. Was promised so much and massively undelivered to the point I had complaints with the executive complaint department and they will be getting another phone call in the next few days! I was told I would get a free mini box….nope when I was sent everything no mini box and when I asked about it I was told it’s an extra £10 a month. Sky sports? £30 extra a month the list is endless when you start adding channels! I wish I would have stayed with sky as they say ‘you buy cheap you buy twice!’.

Oh to add to that I can’t seem to pair my ee tv remote with my Bose soundbar. I was also told I could record 4 programs at a time and watch another channel. I can only record 2 programs at a time but I have to be watching 1 of them! Complete con!

Hi, can anyone help me in pairing my Bose soundbar remote to my EE TV remote so I don’t have to use countless remote controls. I’ve just managed to pair the EE TV remote with my tv remote to switch it on/off so that’s 1 less control but Google, YouTube and various other methods I’ve looked at just doesn’t help me pair them. Once switched on with my Bose soundbar remote I can then control the volume with my old sky remote even though the sky box has been disconnected. It’s a sharp tv I have unsure on model number but when I had sky the sky remote controlled everything meaning I only needed the sky remote which is what I’m trying to do with my EE TV remote.

A couple of points from my point of view:

to me the EPG is fine and not too dissimilar from the Sky one

do check that the channels you want are on EE

one point is have you got a working aeriel? For the free channels the service via EE varies between using an aerial to pick up the Freeview channels, or using the internet. Using an aerial gives you more channels and allows you to record an extra couple of them, using the internet gives you the ITV channels in HD, but "recordings" of BBC channels are just links to the iPlayer and recordings of ITV channels don't let you fast forward through the adverts.

The multiroom EE TV mini box gives you the live channels carried via the internet, but doesn't record

If recording isn't of interest, EE also have versions via Apple TV and Sky Stream.

I agree with Richard although I was miss sold my package. I did it via my local shop and that’s who told me I would receive everything including mini box only for the equipment to turn up and no mini box is included which I found out via complaining. I was also told in the store I would receive all the channels I asked for but I couldn’t unless I paid to have them further increasing my monthly payments.

Richard are you saying if I plug my EE TV box into an aerial rather than over the internet I would be able to record more programs whilst watching another program? If so do you know how many? Also if I plug it in to an aerial would I then be able to fast forward through adverts on an ITV recording?

Yes - if you plug into an aerial and use Freeview you can record 4 rather than 2 channels [I haven't got an aerial connected so can't absolutely confirm whether the four includes the channel being watched, and whether the additional two channels are just freeview channels]. It does record BBC channels and allow ITV advert breaks to be fast forwarded.

The most unreliable broadband ever

never ever have I experience so much service interruption with sky as I experience with EE ,the broadband cuts out non stop and loss of service

i am not happy with EE services as far as broadband and TV are concerned

I am currently switching from Sky tv to EE tv. Was already EE broadband and mobiles. The switch was financially good but the switch experience poor and I am thinking of cancelling my EE tv. Life is not always about reducing your costs.

Experience with EE not good. Sky tv had good quality via Sat dish plus Aerial

EE prefers signal via wifi which is not as robust. Less sound volume and pixalated picture when signal is weak. EE offer cable connection which I am trying tomorrow to improve signal capture. Cable also gets you the freeview channels.

Sometimes you nred to pay a little more to get a quality service (ie Sky tv and sat dish)

Terry
