I’ve recently moved from Lincoln to Suffolk, and when tuning my tv, it won’t let me select my new region and insists on selecting Yorkshire region. How do I change to select Look East region?

Yorkshire is the best region that is why 😉.

Is this your EE TV box or TV, if TV what brand and does it ask for a postcode if you factory reset.

If EE TV box aerial or internal connection. Regions tend to be postcode driven.

Sorry to have taken so long to reply, slight medical problem.. my EE tv box is connected via HDM3 cable. Have reset my router. TV is a Samsung, bought when we moved to Suffolk.

With your TV box is this connected with an aerial as well as the HDMI cable, or are you receiving your channels over the internet?

Yes, aerial and HDM1. Spent over an hour on the telephone with EE, but unable to resolve the problem.

My problem is that I can’t tune in to Look East on BBC. I’m only offered north and east regions. I have a new tv box and tv since I moved to Suffolk in November last year.

In Lincolnshire, you are North of the East region,, which explains Yorkshire, as per this map:-

But you say you are offered the East Region. So what is their local News called?

One useful test would be to ask your neighbours if they get Look East, and maybe see if your aerial is pointing a different way from theirs, if they do,

Or put your address details in :-

https://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview-channel-checker

and then choose Detailed Channel View to see what transmitters you could get. Bit technical, though.

Or maybe just talk to a local aerial fitter, who would know if your aerial could be reoriented to pick up a transmitter offering Look East.

Earlier, you said “I’m only offered north and east regions.”

Hence our puzzlement. Did you mean ‘east’, or was it a typo for something else?

However, my larger puzzlement is why you think you should be able to get Look East. You can’t just get any region you fancy - it has to be one provided by your local transmitter.

And if that’s not happening, it’s not an EETV issue, unless, say, you can get Look East on your TV, but not on your Box Pro in Aerial Mode.

(Not that I mind helping out anyway, even if it’s not an EETV problem, but we have to know what’s possible).

But if you can’t get Look East on your TV via a directly connected aerial and a retune, then, as I said before, you need to talk to a local aerial fitter to see what can be done.

I’m in Suffolk. I had Look East on my Box Pro and now on the Apple TV. I’m surprised a reset and popping in your new Postcode hasn’t sorted it.

@Profile closed said she was ‘tuning her TV’. While you never quite know whether this means tuning the actual TV or tuning a Box Pro attached to it, it does make it pretty clear the poster is not in IP Mode, as you possibly were on your Box Pro, and certainly are on your Apple TV.

I am taking it that @Profile closed was talking about a TV, and not a Box Pro, until and unless contradicted.

And I am fighting very shy of bringing IP Mode, with its many downsides, into the debate unless the broadcast path is completely exhausted. Not least because while Suffolk is prime Look East territory, @Profile closed ‘s postcode may still result in a choice of regions that doesn’t include any with Look East 😢
