@Lizzybear : Discovery & Discovery HD are part of the Entertainment package, which is extra - see EE TV Channel Guide

I wasnt aware of a basic package to be honest. Competitors offer basic packages but EE currently don't?

The most basic package I know is the entertainment package.

If you have sky showcase you will get the discovery plus basic package but you would need to register for it in your EE account.
