topic TV guide in TV

EE has removed functionality from the TV guide. I used to be able to use the TV guide for TNT Sports, Eurosport and NOW TV. When I called in the tech support told me that EE has taken that functionality away and now one can only use the respective apps on the TV box. So I am paying the same amount only to lose functionality. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is it just me?

If this indeed try that they are removing this functionality then what's the point in having the TV box/TV hub and paying the fee for it. Surely if they are going the app route they are cutting costs but not passing it onto the consumer.

Curious to hear other opinions?

On the Pro and mini boxes you should have access to all the channels on the guide unless you have hidden them with the yellow button. You can check this by pressing the yellow button and it will tell you how many channels you have hidden (if any)

If you have not got any of the channels listed and you have no channels listed above around 300 then that's a fault. One way to fix it would be to go to EE player via the home button then into those settings and reset the player data if not it will need a factory reset (the one where you keep the data will do just fine) that is done via the normal settings the option is on the bottom row

@Chris198805

You are talking about the EPG under the button Guide when watching the Box Pro plugged into a TV?

if you click on any programme with a ➡️ in a circle, it should show you that programme. If a programme hasn’t got this marker, it’s not available to watch. I’ve just tried these two options, and they work as I have described.

Tech support, if they said that, were yanking your chain; it’s a constant mystery to me how often we see something reported that suggests the Guides relationship with the truth is rather elastic; though I’d have to hear the telephone calls or read the transcripts to be sure.

But please try it on the basis I suggested above, and come back and report what happens if you see anything other than the programme opening.
