You can see the signal ( strength ) quality of each channel you receive on the pro box you have to be on that channel to see the signal quality. So if it’s not very good it will glitch. EE can not improve your aerial signal quality. just perhaps your aerial is facing the wrong way. I don’t have any issues with HD channels and my aerial is in the attic.

Having decided to save money by leaving Sky and moving to EETV, I am beginning to regret the decision less than a week in.

the boxes keep freezing, is this normal?

the WiFi is supposedly at a level I had previously with BT so can only assume that it’s not a network issue.

what am I doing wrong?

I'm in exactly the same boat. Left Sky BB and Q and am now only 4 days in to having BB broadband Full Fibre 500 and EE TV Box Pro and 2 x Mini's, I am sick and fed up with the glitching. My wife has gone to bed to watch standard Freeview. My TV Pro box is 5m away and my TV box is even plugged into an aerial which gives amazing pictures on standard TV Freeview. The glitching mainly affects HD channels that come Freeview anyway. Mini box in the back room is the same, although not quite as bad. One upstairs, furthest away from router is fine. I chose the package so I could record, but will not be keeping this as we aren't getting even the basic service from it. I am so mad that I read so many issues and EE don't seem to be doing anything to resolve the issue

Thanks for responding and I am sorry to hear you are having the same problem. Is your wifi as good as your previous set up? For that I mean does any of your other IT such as laptop/pc perform as they did? For me these are the same, so it’s just the TV side of things that I have the issue with.

Hi. I don't have any issues with HD channels if I plug the aerial direct into my TV so why does it perform so bad when it goes into the Pro box?

If I don't connect the aerial, then I will be limited to recording only two channels simultaneously, rather than 4 via the aerial

Well after having phoned EE on 150, I was told to do a factory reset on the box. Which I have done, erasing all the data I have inputted on first set up. And within 5 minutes of resetting the problem still exists.

@iannewhouse150

I can’t tell if your Box Pro is in Aerial Mode or IP Mode, but it seems to be Aerial Mode. You do know, though, that if you set up a box in IP Mode, you have to reset it to use Aerial Mode, you can’t just plug an aerial in?

But assuming proper Aerial Mode:-

Use a Loopthrough cable (female to male coax TV cable) from the Aerial Out on the Pro Box to the Aerial In on the TV.

If this makes the TV glitch on the looped through cable, you have a faulty Box Pro, and should ask EETV for a replacement.

If not, compare the TV performance over the looped through cable with the performance over HDMI from the Box Pro fed by the aerial. If the Box Pro glitches, and only that, then you have a (differently) faulty Box Pro, and should ask EETV for a replacement.

Box Minis only work in IP Mode, and so will behave differently from what you are reporting with the Box Pro in Aerial Mode,

I just moved from BT to EE broadband and tv as advised but regret every minute of it. The broadband service within the house is dramatically reduced compared to BT Halo. EETV box wouldn't connect properly via Wifi poor signal and its only 3m away. EE wants more money to provide me with a better hub , yeah right. Customer service are not sympathetic at all and also dealing with a swap from BT to EE broadband at another property at the same time which turned into disaster as they of their own backs cancelled both BT and EE accounts and charged our account for £271 for early contract exit. None of which we had authorised. So poor service all round. I am now outwith the cancellation period but believe me I will never purchase an EE product again once the contracts expires on these 2 properties and 4 phones.

As much as I hate the left wing SKY narrative, their TV services work very well. It's just they don't have TNT sport so to have it is an extra premium on top of extra premium.

To answer my own question, YES IT IS!!.

I have cancelled the contract as I was on day 14 of my cooling off period and gone back to Sky. Sky offered the same price as EE sp I have not last out financially. However, very disappointed in the technical side of EETV. The broadband is on a par with my previous BT, but that may be because I am full fibre to the house from the exchange.
