Hello guys how you doing today. Does anyone here have EE TV. is it any good. ? How does it compare to Virgin. Or Sky. ?

@Calvinmiller76 I took out EE TV a few months back and moved from Sky Glass. Really pleased with my decision. I’ve got the pro box so love the ability to record programs again. Not constantly getting Sky products and offerings coming up all the time is a bonus as well. The Recordings and Watchlist rail is much easier to manage than it was with Sky where I previously had difficulty in deleting programs I no longer wanted and also random programs appearing. Would totally recommend.

@Calvinmiller76 if you don’t need to record programs, I recommend the EE Apple TV over the pro box and this comes from someone who’s got the EE pro box, you still get the Apple TV App Store to download other apps that are not on the EE tv pro box. Plus there’s always a catchup service for most channels.

Have a look at some of my recent postings dotted about this Community and the corresponding BT Community.

But really, nothing compares with your own Excel spreadsheet listing the pros and cons of the three offerings, as regards what’s important to you.

And don’t forget to have a fourth row, for not taking any of these services, and just going it alone with individual direct subscriptions, to Now, Netflix, other Sports channels etc. I did that for years, but have just allowed myself to fall into the clutches of EE TV, which I think costs me an extra fiver a month over direct, but means I can at last poke about in the channels from 300 upwards, on EE TV’s very latest recording box.

Sky no thanks, Virgin not served here, so it came down for me to be an inny or an outy for EE TV, Severance style 😛

Well my use case for EE TV is slightly different to most people. I have non EE Apple TV's at home and use Now for watching Sky Sports F1. Now's Apple TV app has live pause and rewind for up to 2 hours but the on demand availability is abysmal, as it can take up to 72 hours for a session to become available. Also no watch from start option.

So I ordered Big Sport with a Pro box and I only use it for recording the F1 sessions in case I miss them. So far it has performed well, only missing the last couple of mins of the bla bla bla at the end of a practice session. I tend to pad out the recordings by recording the programs a few hours after just in case something happens that causes delays.

Very happy with it so far as it does everything I need it to do. Only thing that could be better is if the EE TV app for non EE Apple TV's could have more channels. If they at least managed to get the free to air channels on there (BBC, ITV etc) it would be a more complete solution, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Absolutely, you have the unanswerable and unique use case for a Box Pro on EETV, to record and timeshift live sport, given that on demand is so patchy for catching it up.

Other people might want it, but you have the use case that needs it 😛
