Hey,

I'm at the end of my contract with sky stream & currently have BT fibre 900 broadband. They are moving me over start of next month to EE broadband as I think having tnt sports has caused an issue to do it now.

If I get the apple tv box will everything just work as a tv guide & all be integrated? I know Netflix & Disney need to be used separately but atm I'm having to log into discovery+ to watch tnt sports & it's not the best app imo.

I'm looking at getting the 2 mini boxes & will everything be able to watch at a click of a button or will there be lots of logging in with now TV etc? Also do the boxes support skysports uhd?

I'm torn between getting Apple box & 2minis... or just 3mini boxes because I really can't find much out there regarding interface of all the boxes except on the odd pictures on social media. I also don't have a aerial fitted in the house as I've been with sky for years so there's been no need. Any feedback or videos on any of the boxes would be welcomed

Thanks

Yes - plug in the provided Apple TV box into your EE broadband and it'll just work. Check out the list of TV channels you'll get here: https://ee.co.uk/help/tv-sport/manage-use/channel-guide Sky Sports UHD isn't currently available on any EE TV boxes.

On the TV Box Mini, some apps will ask you to log in once when you first use them. Others will sign in automatically.

The Apple TV offers almost everything that the TV Box Mini does, plus a lot more.

If you have an EE store nearby, you should be able to go in and see it in action. Alternatively, some people have uploaded videos of their experience to YouTube.

Will it ever be possible to have a second EE TV Apple TV box or at least allow the full EE TV app to be installed on an standard Apple TV? I have a lot of movies/TV shows bought from Apple, a lot of which aren't available on streaming services. I would like one box in the main bedroom which would allow me to watch any channel or watch any of my purchases.

Very unlikely to ever allow a second Apple TV, and almost certainly won't ever be possible to get the full experience without it being a supplied device - guaranteed for the next 2 years at least.

Evening Darren,

I've signed up to the fibre 900 & full works for the TV which goes live 20th March, I can access everything through apps but I've been told I can't be sent my Apple 4k TV box & 2minis? Why is this? As I'm guessing I'll be getting billed as I can use all the features but just missing the devices.

You'll be sent your boxes in time for your activation date. They'll not work correctly until they're connected to your EE broadband line, so there's no benefit to sending them earlier.

I can't comment on your package options I'm afraid.

Thanks for this information. It’s very disappointing. I’ve just switched my broadband to EE from Sky but I don’t feel that these limitations make EE TV quite right for me yet. Hopefully you’ll keep improving it to make it a genuine alternative to Sky Q.

Hi Darren,

I’ve been thinking and I’m not 100% sure we really need recording. And I really like the idea of just having a single box for all our TV requirements.

I’ve looked at the link you posted about the channels but that doesn’t specifically mention Apple TV. So could you confirm that all the channels I subscribe to and all the free to air channels will be on the EE TV guide on the Apple TV? Occasionally we do want to watch specific things but most of the time we browse the guide on Sky Q to find something to watch so we don’t want to loose this functionality.

For example, I only have a ‘Sport’ subscription, so can only view the TNT Sports channels on my Apple TV 4K I already own through the EE TV Guide.

If it was an EE supplied box, I would be able to see the “terrestrial” channels (BBC1 onwards), plus any subscription channels such as those supplied by TNT or NOW.
