I don't think there is a benefit to the customer. There may be a benefit to EE - particularly if its the case that some (poorly educated) EE customers are switching to Sky broadband so they can use Sky Stream (there almost certainly will be some of those). I guess there's a benefit to Sky as I suspect they need as many customers as possible to switch to Stream, so the help of EE acting as agents would be useful. But benefit to customer ..... ? Not sure I'm seeing one.

So apologies, but im just wondering, other than EE taking a £0.99 admin fee ? why would someone purchase via EE if all the process does is re-direct you to SKY ? do you end up paying Sky or EE every month ?

Why would I buy via EE instead of just going directly to Skys website anyway ?

Not sure im understanding this latest EE venture and just wondered if anyone could offer anymore info ? interested yes ! confused very much so ......

If you order it through EE I would imagine it would be billed through EE.

The idea would be that it is included as one bill with EE instead of you being billed separately for your Sky Stream from Sky and your broadband from EE

I did wonder, but during the order process you are re-directed to skys website anyway ?

Its a bit like me creating a website selling EE sim plans, taking a £0.99 fee then redirecting you to EEs website where you still have to create an EE account and purchase your sim.

EE are selling on behalf of Sky which is the agreement. You need a sky ID for it to work as advised on the link below.

https://ee.co.uk/help/tv-sport/sky-stream

It might be easier for you to phone EE and let them set it up for you.

As an ex sky stream customer i know how it works. That's not what I'm asking. What is the benefit of ordering via EE ? answer as far as i can tell their is none.

I'm not an EE staff member, but the benefit is one direct debit to answer your question through EE with one payment date instead of two.

So it's easier to manage your bills if that's of benefit to you.

It's down to you to weigh up whether its right for you to order it through EE.

In that case I agree with the others, there is no distinction.

You can have Sky Stream with any broadband provider, not just Sky or EE

Well I'm not sure I fully understand it, but Sky Stream is a great product. Stuck on an old copper line with no chance of fibre from Openreach, I can't get products like EE TV, but Sky Stream is fairly impressive in terms of speed and quality. Access to Sky Go and reasonably priced Netflix upgrade to premium for £8.
