Hi,

I have to enter pin every time I go to any app, eg. Netflix even though Netflix already has parental controls. It’s really annoying as every time kids turn on tv they need a pin to just get into the app at all.

i want parental controls on EETV but I don’t want to have to enter it every time they use the Netflix app. How do you turn it off for apps without disabling it for ALL EETV programming?

Apps that don't integrate with the device-wide parental control settings are forced to request a PIN when launching (when enabled) - this is because the device cannot verify that the setting is enabled in the app itself.

Replying in 2025 as this is still a problem. I have to say that had I known how poor EETV was I wouldn't have accepted it, even as part of a deal. The fact you have to turn off Parental Control to allow your kids to access Netflix so they can log into their child accounts is the dumbest UX/UI design I have seen quite some time.

Unless I want to spend my time keying in my code to allow them in, I am forced to turn of Parental Controls. This is fine for apps that have their own built-in controls, but rubbish for any that don't and any channel in the TV Guide that might decide to broadcast a more mature-themed film I don't want the kids to see as it's not age appropriate.

As I say, this is the stupidest design flaw I've seen in quite some time. It's astonishing that a huge company like EE can't get this right.
