During the application for EETV on the Apple Box I was told that the box is mine after the initial 2 years. I have received an update on the order and information within it saying the “kit is on loan”. Which is correct, as having to hand back the Apple TV box at the end of the 2 years affects the overall value?

Can you please confirm who told you the box was yours? This isn't the case - any equipment provided as part of an EE Broadband or EE TV subscription will only ever be on loan, and you'll be required to return it if you cease your subscription.

I can’t remember the gentleman’s name. I ordered it on Friday. I asked the question directly “do I get to keep the Apple TV at the end of the contract” That’s really not very good. I feel duped now!

On the phone. I think he was based in Wales. What happens now then? I just have to accept that the terms aren’t what was agreed on the phone?

As you ordered over the phone you have 14 days to try the product, during which you can cancel the contract without penalty.

Is that 14 days from receiving the product? I’ve had a message saying it’s only been despatched today.

14 days of working service - so the latter of:

the date you receive your equipment
the date the service starts working (hopefully the agreed activation date)

I’ve been thinking about how what was explained to me during my call wasn’t true. It’s made me question another thing that was said. I was told that to get the EETV I had to take a 24 month contract, and not only that, I had to extend my EE broadband contract so that it ran along side it. Is that the case?

Yes, that is correct - you cannot have EE TV without EE Broadband, therefore both products will be renewed for the 24 month term.
