Tnt sports Ultimate HDR

Is there no HDR on the discovery app. The last 3 games on a Saturday I've watched haven't had HDR or is the HDR not available on the app?

Yes I have a capable projector and HDR is always on with he sky games . I used to have it through the BT/EE box and had HDR.

There is indeed, I watched the Newcastle game earlier in 4K HDR.

When a game is on in 4K you will find a duplicate of the HD tile with a UHD banner across it. Alternatively, when watching in HD, if you press down to “More to watch”, you will see a UHD tile assuming it is available.

There definitely wasn't any HDR option for me. Just the HD channel option and the 4k option. Wonder if it's because something with EE and the £20 a month sub doesn't allow HDR. Or are you using the app also mate? Or maybe something to do with the discovery app on sky 🤔 I will try logging into just the web browser next time see if any difference.

That is the app on Sky Q, Apple TV 4K, LG TV or the EE Box Pro.

The app, regardless of who you pay or how much delivers up to 4K HDR. None of the streams have the word HDR on them, they just say UHD, but switch to HDR if you have a capable TV and the right settings.

Search for UHD in the app, your TV will need to support 2160p 10 bit to trigger HDR.

A web browser will not deliver 4K or HDR.

This is what I'm saying. My projector projects HDR fine when it comes to movies or sky sports UHD HDR but just not on the discovery app . And obviously I no it's not HDR because I no the difference in picture quality. Ok next week maybe I'll try it on the web player see if any difference. But the app on the sky stream box it's definitely not producing HDR. Maybe I'll try the BT/EE box next week, least if it work on that then I no it's the sky stream box having the issue.

Shame there is no TV guide which states what's on what's HDR. Pretty sure there is not is there.

It is basically what is on TNT Sport Ultimate, although that doesn't guarantee HDR 100%, if the broadcast is based in the UK, then it should include it.

But just searching for UHD in the app should give you plenty of on demand content to test.

so just turned the BT/EE box on and went to the discovery app and hey presto we have HDR!

So looks like it's the sky stream box what can't do it. Find that strange though as I watch sky sports UHD with HDR on it. Will give them a call or a message and see if they will get a update on it to fix that in the future.

But now at least I no I can get the HDR goodness on the BT box.

HDR makes a massive difference in pic quality!

Not that EE TV isn’t notorious for exactly what you have to buy extra to get HD, UHD and HDR 😛

The poster needs to speak to Sky if the puck isn’t behaving, it does support discovery+ UHD HDR, regardless of who you pay for access or how much.

It’s either a setting problem or a dodgy puck.

It is from EE mate. I could get it from sky in the actual TV side of it via stream but it costs a extra 10 quid where as because I'm a bit and ee customer it's only 20 a month, but I do have the HDR as it works on the app on the BT/ee box, seems it just doesn't work on the sky stream box. Can't be anything in the settings as HDR works fine on sky sports UHD that's why it's very strange!

Not the end of the world I'll just have to use the BT box on Saturdays and midweek.

I do not have a Sky Stream box.

I know that you can use the discovery+ app on any Sky device regardless of who you pay for the app or how much, and that the app displays UHD HDR via Sky Stream because I can see pages of threads on the subject on the Sky community.

Just did some further testing out of curiosity.

So discovery app and the apple TV app no HDR at all .

Sky Atlantic vod like game of thrones ect no HDR.

Amazon prime HDR working fine. And as I said sky sports UHD HDR works fine. So it's really strange how some content works fine and some doesn't. Guess I'm going to have to ring sky tomorrow because it definitely seems like it's the sky stream box problem.

Just a further update on this. So I just got off the phone to sky and they say its a licensing issue he thinks. The stream box is capable of HDR as we no but for some reason no HDR on the TNT sports through the stream box. He didn't seem 100% confident. Can anybody else confirm who has TNT sports through the app on the stream box that they can also not get HDR on the ultimate channel.

After doing a bit of testing. TNT sport Ultimate is a mess. As if the discovery+ app wasn't bad enough. This is what I found worked and didn’t, all through discovery+ app on TNT sport Ultimate channel:

LG OLED OS - UHD, HDR & Dolby Atmos (only one with all three working)

Apple TV 4K - UHD, no HDR, no Dolby Atmos

Firestick 4K max - UHD, no HDR, no Dolby Atmos

SkyQ 2TB box - UHD, HDR, no Dolby Atmos.

This is nothing to do with settings being on or off on my devices by the way. Make it make sense, what a mess!

Well how strange is this. So as I said the app on my sky stream box no HDR. But I got a apple 4k box a few days ago and the HDR works on that.

Very strange hey. Works on mine but not yours.

But yeah very weird, some boxes work and some don't.

Are you sure you aren't forcing HDR? I have my Apple TV 4K picture settings set to 4K SDR and turn match frame rate on so HDR only activates when the source is HDR.
