Is the ITVX app supposed to work on BT/EE TV? For any programme I try to watch, the ads play fine (of course!) but then there's an error message just as the programme is about to start. It says to power-off the box for 30 seconds, etc, which I have done, and I've even had a replaacement box sent to me (old one was BT, new one is EE - made no difference).

I've read somewhere that the problem may be the YouView platform itself but I can't find anything concrete, and the customer services help team didn't mention anything about it. I can't be the only one having this problem...?

I also have the same problem with ITV X and I have just set up the service up on a new box. I use my existing email and password which are different from that used with EE. Could that be a problem?

Unfortunately there was an outage for a number of apps on the TV Box Pro and TV Box Mini yesterday (as well as a number of other TV platforms around the world). This was caused by a Microsoft service outage affecting the content protection used just on our newer TV boxes.

Problem solved... went into Settings of the BT box, then Picture & Sound then HDMI Display, changed it from 'UPF' to 1080p. I hadn't set it to UPF myself so it looks like this is the default setting.

Hi Neil-O

Thank you for your reply to someone else's question. I received a new EE box just yesterday when I changed over from BT.

I'll try to go through your procedure in Settings later today. But what I encountered last night was this: ITVX let me go into the app, let me reset my password, listed the programme I wanted to watch in the Player. But it was only when I actually clicked to play that episode that there an error message came up which added me to "try later". I tried twice after a few seconds but the same thing came up.

Nevertheless, I shall try updating players and apps.

David Dreebin
